This piece of furniture is a fantastic addtion to your home and, with care, will last a very long time. The fabric is designed to be colourfast but having said that, direct sunlight will fade the fabric overtime. It is resistant to abrasion and stains; to pilling; mould and mildew; and impervious to attacks by moths, silverfish and insect pests.
If there is a need to treat the ottoman, then here are some helpful tips:
Timber tray top
It is recommended that you only wipe clean with a damp cloth when needed. It is not advised to use harsh cleaning products or scrubbing cloths. Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight as this may cause the timber colour to deepen over time. A light filled room is perfectly fine though.
It is recommended that placemats and drink coasters are used if hot dishes are placed on the table top. Direct heat can cause staining. Do not position over heating vents, in front of gas heaters, oil heaters, open fireplaces or next to hot electrical applicances.
Always clean spills and treat dirt marks straight away. Shampoo clean using upholstery shampoo. It is not recommended that you use dishwashing or laundry detergents and make sure not to saturate the fabric. Do not scrub with a stiff brush. Dry in shade away from direct heat.
Spot cleaning: Gently remove any dirt or mop any liquid from the surface of the fabric. Apply cleaning agents strictly according to instructions to remove the residue of the spill. Do not saturate the fabric or interior with water or other cleaning liquids. May be spot cleaned with dry cleaning solvent.
Soil resist treatments: Apply only water-based soil resist (fabric protector) treatments.
Pilling: Can occur occasionally as a result of normal daily wear and should not be considered as a fault. Fibre pilling can be removed by a battery operated pilling tool available from most haberdashery stores.
